SCOOPS

Welcome! This is the website of SCOOPS, the South Carolina Organization Of Problem Solvers. We are the official South Carolina affiliate of Destination ImagiNation.

What's New?

Want to get a team started with DI? See the Registration page.

If your school or organization has never participated in DI you may qualify for the DI Free program.

This year, DI has added a 6th challenge to the membership package, a projectOUTREACH challenge which includes a community service component: previews of all challenges. This challenge is open to middle school, high school and university level teams only.

The National Dairy Council is sponsoring the projectOUTREACH challenge by paying the membership fee for the first 500 teams in the United States that sign up for the projectOUTREACH challenge. To take advantage of this special offer complete the special projectOUTREACH membership form.

Construction Challenge is a career education initiative to develop the Workforce of the Future.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) is working with DI to provide students a hands-on, real-world experience that will inspire them to explore and pursue careers in the construction industry.

Mark your calendar for February 7, 2009 – that’s the day that up to 800 middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) teams will solve real-life construction-based challenges at the 16 Regional Rallies across the US and Canada. Teenagers will compete and solve infrastructure, manufacturing design, and service tech challenges using teamwork and creative problem solving. The top 50 teams will advance to the Championships held at the University of Tennessee May 19-23, where student teams can literally pave a pathway to their higher education (and a future career) with scholarship and internship opportunities.

Construction Challenge is a separate program, and is not covered by the standard membership. Please complete the registration form.
